Artist Honoree – Lyn Hiner

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: LYN HINER
2025 Motorcar Cavalcade Artist Honoree

This year’s Motorcar Cavalcade Artist Honoree Lyn Hiner will bring her unique artistic vision to Miami’s elite concours event with the debut of her new 2025 Petrol collection.

Known for her expressive palette knife application and bold color selection, Lyn’s signature style creates a sense of energy and movement on canvas. Her abstracted automotive paintings reinterpret a vehicle’s familiar elements to reveal a beautiful new perspective – capturing the essence of the amazing machines we love, while also emoting the dynamic energy that make our hearts sing. Lyn explains, “The cars I am privileged to paint are already beautiful works of art in themselves, my goal is not to simply replicate them but to render the emotions that they awaken.”

An internationally recognized pallet knife painter based in Southern California, Lyn’s artistic voice evolved as a culmination of her own inspirations and life experiences. Automobiles and art have long been a passion for Lyn. As a child, her father rebuilt and raced Porsches on an amateur level and her mother owned and operated a successful art gallery in Lake Tahoe for many years. Lyn fondly recalls learning to shift gears with her dad behind the wheel of his 911 as one of her earliest memories. The distinct sights, sounds and smells of those early years are forever embedded in her soul.

After studying art at the prestigious Pratt Institute in New York, she found herself working for over a decade in the racing industry as the show manager for the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show. It wasn’t until a horrific incident in 2012 that landed her in the hospital with extensive 2nd & 3rd-degree burns and a year-long recovery that Lyn finally discovered her core artistic voice and strong calling to paint full time.

Having honed her work in the years following, her two passions converged in November 2017 as Lyn launched her first Petrol automotive collection at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It was there that her work found a strong following with automotive audience which led to subsequent invitations to other marquee exhibitions. The Amelia and Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Petersen Automotive Museum, events in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and most recently the creation of Lyn Hiner Studios Japan. Recently recognized as one of the world’s prominent automotive fine artists, Lyn’s innovative artworks are now featured at fine art exhibitions, galleries, marquee automotive museums and private collections worldwide.

Be sure to stop by Lyn’s exhibit on the concours field during the Motorcar Cavalcade and experience her work firsthand.
