The purpose of the dashboard is twofold. It must display relevant mechanical information to the driver, while conveying the design language present in the rest of the car in an aesthetically pleasing manner. It provides visual design cues that hint at the very essence of the vehicle and while affecting the drivers emotional and psychological experience of the car. It is the driver’s only view of the car while in motion, and may well be one of the most important design elements that influence one’s experience of the automobile.
