Tails

It was the space-age, and GM led the way with the hood-bird on the ‘55 & ‘56 Chevys and Cadillac’s P-38 fighter-plane inspired tailfins. They were all about the look. Today I can accept wings on newer cars only if they function. I’m not a fan of the big Fast & Furious wings unless they provide aerodynamic downforce to the vehicle. The tail is the last piece you see as the car cuts through the wind, going down the road. That last, lingering glimpse needs to leave an impression.
