General Event Information
From Friday, January 31st, 5 pm, through Sunday the 2nd, 4 pm, the Motorcar Cavalcade Hospitality Suite, located at the Host Hotel in the Orchid Lounge, will be open to all Entrants and VIP’s.
Light snacks and beverages will be available at most times in the Lounge, as well as members of the Motorcar Cavalcade team, should you need assistance.
Entrants and VIP’s are welcome to use this room to meet friends or take a moment to relax. The room is at your disposal to use as you see fit.
Note that immediately outside of this room, on the path towards the main concours field, is where guest ticketing occurs on Sunday, Concours morning.
All Entrants driving their show car on the field must have their ticket with them (by phone or print out).
Anyone accompanying you in your show car must have their own ticket. If they do not have a ticket, they will not be allowed entry.
If you purchased all of the tickets for your group, please be sure to send each person their own ticket. Tickets can be transferred through the link in your ticket confirmation email. Each person entering the field must have their own ticket to be allowed entry.
At the event, once your ticket is scanned, you will receive a Lanyard Ticket and a Wristband. The Lanyard Ticket is a memento of the event. The Wristband is your actual entrance confirmation. Please put this Wristband on immediately and do not remove, transfer or alter this band in any way. Once the band is on your wrist, it cannot be loosened. Wristbands are void if tampered with or removed.
Once your ticket is scanned, it becomes “invalid”. If you remove your Wristband and try to use your ticket code again, it will be denied.
The Wristband allows you entry and exit/re-entry to the event. It also grants you access to all of the amenities of the event. If you do not have your Wristband properly secured on your wrist, you will be denied entry/access.
We encourage you to “dress your best”. “Garden Party Chic” would best describe it – hats are encouraged!
And specifically relating to shoes for the Ladies, this event is on the lawn, the grounds are a bit “curvy” and the footing can be from “firm” to “slightly spongy”.
The above said, what’s most important is for you to be comfortable!
Please feel free to bring picnic blankets and chairs. You can also pack your own picnic – but remember, your Entrant ticket is “all-inclusive” – there will be plenty of fine cuisine, delicious desserts, top-shelf cocktails and beer, wine and champagne all day long.
Feel free to set up around your car and make a great day out! There will be tables and chairs around the field, but we encourage you to make your own “happening” for you, your family and friends around your car.
This is a rain-or-shine event.
There will be no refunds on tickets in the event of inclement weather.
Children under 12 are admitted free.
Located at the west end of the field, closest to the hotel you will find the Kidz Zone. Ride-ons, sensory tables with kinetic sand, mini power wheels and tables for drawing will be available!
If you are staying at the Host hotel, you receive complimentary access to the Tidal Cove Waterpark. The waterpark is not associated with the Concours, so please direct any questions directly to the Hotel. If you are not staying at the hotel and just visiting for the day, tickets to the water park can be purchased at the hotel.
Communication
Our primary method of communication is through email. Entrant-specific emails will contain “Entrant” in the subject line- it is critical to read them thoroughly!
Please manually “approve”, “whitelist” and/or “accept” emails from our domain – @motorcarcavalcade.com so all event communications can be received without any problems. If you cannot “approve” the general domain (@motorcarcavalcade.com) through your spam filter, please ”approve” the following email addresses:
- info@motorcarcavalcade.com
- entrant@motorcarcavalcade.com
- paddock@motorcarcavalcade.com (if you have a trailer and/or vehicle in reserved parking)
This will help our communications greatly and make for a more enjoyable experience for everyone!
Vehicle Classes
“Celebrating the Art and Evolution of the Automobile”
Our Classes are designed to showcase the art form of the automobile and how that art has evolved over the years. Our VIP Judges will not be “critically” judging your cars against any point system or standard. Rather, they will be reviewing your car subjectively – evaluating the overall presence and provenance of your vehicle and then relating the feature of your car in the class it resides in.
Our Selection Committee assigned cars to classes they felt best appropriate. In many instances, some of your remarkable cars could have easily been placed in numerous classes! Tough decisions, indeed!
And so, even though certain cars will be acknowledged with awards – all vehicles are technically “winners”. Our goal for the day is to share our passion with friends, family, and all who appreciate the fellowship of the automobile!
